After a mutual friend tagged Mr. Stutler in a Facebook post, I was curious about this local-to-me, independent author. The synopsis of Hillari's Head looked interesting and different, so I downloaded a sample. I didn't want to like the story; I have a long list of books to read. The sample sucked me in, however, and I ended up purchasing the Kindle version and couldn't put it down. Mr. Stutler's writing is unpretentious, humorous, and engaging. His characters are colorful and interesting, but they are also believable. There is something for everyone in the story; it's part legal thriller, romance, and mystery. The characters are likable and Stutler does a fine job dealing with the topic of self-image and societal perception of beauty. Lastly, I want to add that the book is well-edited, which is not always the case with independently published novels. I hope to see more work from this author.Product details

Hillari's Head by Tim Stutler was an amazing book, I found it very hard to put down. The Characters seemed so real, I enjoyed reading about the struggles and triumphs of Kristina, Duck and Judgment day. This book was recommended to me by a friend, and I am very glad that she did.
Powerful plot that draws you in,... deeper and deeper. The author's style of writing is very descriptive, even evokative. The courtroom drama, on its own, stands alone...but the real story is about Hilari..not so much her "head" as who she really is. Highly recommended.
Bought it because I ride a recumbent bike (storyline includes recumbent bikes), but turned out to be a good read for anyone. Well written.
As someone who works in the legal field, I enjoyed the accurate backdrop of the novel. Hillari's Head was hard to put down and was easy to breeze through because I needed to know what was going to happen. There is also a twist in the book that I did not see coming, which I normally can spot. The story was empowering and I am interested in reading another one of the author's books. Recommended!
I truly enjoyed reading Hillari's Head. It's smart, fun, and the characters are well-developed and interesting. It's a novel I've recommended to others because it is an excellent mix of humor, suspense, and love, which makes it hard to put down. The legal drama that unfolds is enthralling yet one does not get lost in its complexity. I also found myself laughing out loud often, quieted at unexpected tragic turns, and thrilled by multiple surprises throughout the book. The emotional investment made in the book's gripping story and compelling characters paid off well in hours of reading entertainment. Great book!
I loved this book. As I first sat down to read it, I wondered where a book that begins "Hillari's head was huge", would take me. It was a wonderful journey. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. Tim Stutler is a masterful storyteller. I was instantly invested in each of these characters and was hooked by "Judgment Day" (you will smile and nod your head when you get to that part in the book). Each chapter leaves you asking, "what now?" Good luck trying to put it down. It's one of those rare books I'd like to read again, but I'm too busy reading the author's first book, "Dead Hand Control". I'm having trouble putting that one down as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Hillari's Head. You get a combination of drama, mystery, humor, romance, education and psychology all skillfully woven together to tell a very compelling story. The characters are interesting and well developed. The pieces of the puzzle sometimes seem to be scattered all over the floor, but the author very cunningly weaves everything together in the final chapters.
It is a "legal" thriller, but Tim Stutler does an outstanding job of explaining every concept so that the reader never gets lost in the details. This book gains momentum as the story develops and the last few chapters are enthralling. The surprise ending will make you gasp. I highly recommend this book!
